We have used Payne's for almost 30 years. In the beginning, not happy with the original owners. But ever since Dennis Evans and his crew took over, very happy. If there is something not right, they will keep at it until they make it right with you.

I went here for an inspection sticker one day and my car was taken care of right away. I walked to my house and back, but when I got there I realized I forgot my keys. Luckily they have a van ready to give you a ride if that happens. I highly recomend this place.

i had gotten past due for my state inspection and didn't want to drive too far lest getting a ticket - so first place i see is Payne's Automotive...i was stunned as to what greeted me: a well appointed lobby and seating/waiting area; professionally dressed representatives; informative and willing staff available - all with out charging extra - Payne's is competitively priced, with knowledgeable, professional staff - i had been driving past this shop for the last year yet going out of my way to a shop more expensive because it had a 'name'/big franchise...oh how i regret the waste of monies i've spent all based on a name! This is the only place i will be taking my car or any vehicle to and encourage ANYONE to go by and check them out, you will not be disappointed :)

Before I discovered Payne's Automotive, I went to another business to get my car inspected, but they tried to rip me off. This other business, Discount Inspection and Brakes on Holcombe, jacked my car up so they could find all the repair work they could find and said I needed to have those things done BEFORE they could inspect my car and pass it, citing so called "safety" issues. This other business was crowded, dirty, had a small, nasty waiting room with barely a place to sit. It was a noisy, unpleasant atmosphere! Then I found Payne's Automotive and the difference was day and night! I have never been to an automotive repair place as clean, organized, professional and pleasant as Payne's Automotive! Reminiscent of they professional way that automotive business might have looked in an earlier era--as soon as I drove up, I said to myself, "Oh my! This place is awesome!" And walking inside to their lobby, I continued to be impressed! The manager was there and one of the employees. It was close to closing time and the manager handled booking my appointment himself so that his employee could go home on time. When do you ever see that?? Everyone was so nice and professional! I had never had to make an appointment for a state inspection before, but I didn't mind returning the next day at my appointment time. I respect that they require people to make an appointment first because it allows them to give you personal attention and great service that you don't normally find these days. They inspected my car as I had asked them to do and didn't jack it up to try to find everything I "needed" to have repaired in order for them to say they would then be "able" to inspect it. Then they followed up with not one ,but two letters thanking me for my business and offering to be of service if I should ever need any work done on my car. Well, I do, and i am going to bring my car back in and let them do the repair work that the other place said needed. Because of their honesty, I am more than willing to give them a chance. And if my experience is as great as I think it will be, I am going to write a follow up review! In a world where a customer often feels like all a business cares about is taking his or her money, it is nice for find one that seems to genuinely care about its customers and providing great service!

I love the folks at Payne's!! They have the BEST customer service, and they offer a great warranty on their work. We've only had to take advantage of their warranty once, and it was painless and quick. We have two vehicles that are 12+ years old and another that is 3 years old, and we get all of our servicing done at Payne's. All three vehicles run like new. They are honest, as there have been a couple of times when what we (and they) thought was a major repair turned out to be something small. We never would have known the difference, but because of their honesty we were saved lots of money. They don't try to guilt you into unnecessary or expensive services like most places tend to do. Their reception area is very inviting and is usually stocked with cookies and coffee/hot chocolate, with water available also. The waiting area is cozy and even has books and toys for the kiddos. The bathroom is always super clean. They have an efficient service shuttle to make drop off/ pick up even easier for busy folks like me.
